Chef Hiyaw Gebreyohannes dishes marry traditional Ethiopian cuisine with modern culinary technique. As co-owner of Gorsha and founder of Taste of Ethiopia, a packaged retail Ethiopian food line, he has always been committed to sharing a piece of Ethiopian culture with a broader market.

He was introduced to cooking as a child in the kitchen of his family's Ethiopian restaurant in Canada, where he became captivated by the spices and flavors of his home land and learned his first lessons in cooking and business.

Hiyaw has catered for high-profile clients, including Tyler Perry, Oprah, President Clinton, Google, Goldman Sachs, and the Nelson Mandela Children's Foundation. His recipes are also featured in Hot Bread Kitchen’s cookbook, released in 2015.
